food truck eatery

This project was to design a community and restaurant space around the idea ofÂ
adaptability. To further the point, the food is provided by food trucks, rather than a kitchen on site. The space is arranged for the typical restaurant experience, but provides comfortable floor seating for a picnic-style experience for families. Site studies showed that there is a significant lack of green space around the site, despite a growing residential population of young families and professionals. The project addresses this by providing grassy space, with hanging greenery and a live wall, made possible by the large skylights and storefront glazing. When the food trucks are gone, swings pull down from the trusses, providing an active entertainment space.
